The most famous virtual band in the world, created in the late 1990s by the leader of the Britpop phenomenon Blur Damon Albarn and illustrator Jamie Hewlett, is returning to the stage. Gorillaz will perform closest to us in Vienna, where we can expect them on November 2.
English virtual project Gorillaz consists of four animated characters: 2-D (lead vocals, keyboards), Murdoc Niccals (bass guitar), Noodles (guitar, keyboards) and Russell Hobbs (drums and percussion). Their music is often described as a mix of alternative rock, modern electronica, trip-hop, techno, as well as more exotic genres.
In 2001, they released his self-titled debut, with which they ranked into the Guinness Book of Records as the most successful virtual band of all time (the album sold 7 million copies). An album followed four years later Demon Days, with which they got a little closer dance production. They have hosted a range of renowned artists from Neneh Cherry, De La Soul to Dennis Hopper and presented a multi-genre album his critical view of the world situation at the time. In 2010, they presented two albums: Plastic Beach in March and The Fall in December. The latter was free for all fan club members.

Just when we thought we wouldn't see Gorillaz again, they did his fifth studio album Humanz, which was released in April this year. The album is undoubtedly the most artistic and for the listener the most demanding Gorillaz album to date, but it cannot be ignored a strong political message. The album features a bunch of top musicians: Vince Staples, Grace Jones, De La Soul, Anthony Hamilton and others.
PS: Gorillaz finally got human forms too - v Graham Norton Show appeared on stage to perform We Got The Power, a track from the new album. He also found himself among them Noel Gallagher from Oasis.
