A duo The Black Keys, which they make up Dan Auerbach (guitar and vocals) and Patrick Carney (drums), started recording music in a basement and, like many other successful musicians today, also released his own records before becoming famous as one of the most popular garage rock bands since 2010.

Friends from childhood, they founded the group immediately after finishing their studies and their debut album The Big Come Up (2002), which they released on indie label Alive, which landed them a new deal with Fat Possum Records. Over the next decade, The Black Keys built a fan base through extensive touring in small clubs in the underground scene, also through frequent album releases and festival appearances. Their third album Rubber Factory (2004) received critical acclaim and boosted the band's profile, eventually leading to a record deal with Nonesuch Records in 2006, where the duo released an album in collaboration with producer Danger Mouse Attack & Release (2008) in a professional studio.
