In the Grand Hotel Union, they are starting with a new concert project, UniON Concerts, as part of which internationally renowned musicians will line up on the stage of the Union Hotel, who, with their artistic talent and expertise, outline new dimensions in their genre - blues, jazz and soul. A series of energetic and emotional concert treats, on September 22 Mississippi Heat begins.
Mississippi Heat were formed in 1991 in Chicago. A vision by Pierre Lacocque, their founder, leader and majority author of the compositions, has remained unchanged since then: a homogeneous band in which all the musicians they contribute equally to create a recognizable sound.
The Mississippi Heat make up Pierre Lacocque (organs), Inetta Visor (lead vocals), Giles Corey (guitar), Spurling Banks (bass guitar), Kenny Smith (drums) and Spurling Banks (bass guitar). Nevertheless, their operation based on traditional blues from the 1950s (Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Jimmy Reed, Jimmy Rogers) and the influence of some the world's most recognizable organists (Big & Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson, Junior Wells, George Smith), still sound fresh and unique today.
So far they have released seven CDs and a DVD, and for the albums Handyman and Footprints On The Ceiling, they were awarded awards by Real Blues Magazine for best album of the year in the "chicago blues" category and the best blues production of the year.
