On the vast expanse of the Greenlandic island of Uummannaq, high above the North Pole, rest two unusual sculptures by the Dutch designer Rob Sweer.
It is a bivouac, which in its minimalistic whiteness of modern forms is in picturesque harmony with the surrounding icy landscape. But their essential secret lies in the useful mobility of the sled, which is installed on the lower part, which enables movement on the ice surface.
They can provide a total of 12 people with an emergency shelter for resting, cooking or sleeping in an isolated environment. At the same time, the sleigh houses invite you to admire the stunning panorama through numerous glazed openings. The project was carried out in cooperation with Inuit hunters and supported by the Uummannaq Polar Institute.
