Kulturna soeska is an original cultural project in Ljubljana, in which seven of the most prominent cultural institutions of our capital participate: the International Graphic Arts Center, the Modern Gallery, the National Gallery, SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, the National Museum of Slovenia, the Museum of Natural History of Slovenia and the initiator of the project: the Society of Slovenian Writers .
On Thursday, September 17, at 6 p.m., seven balloons will fly into the air in front of the Baroque Tivoli Castle. They will announce the ceremonial opening of the Cultural Neighborhood - an original cultural project that will enrich the capital with artistic events based on the most solid foundation: cooperation. Namely, on the initiative of the Society of Slovenian Writers, the cultural neighborhood unites the most prominent cultural institutions of our capital in a common vision: the International Graphic Arts Center, the Modern Gallery, the National Gallery, SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, the National Museum of Slovenia and the Museum of Natural History of Slovenia.

All mentioned institutions will prepare creative workshops for children between 10 and 11 a.m., and at 6 p.m., visitors will go on an inspiring journey through the friendly neighborhood together with the poet and writer Matjaž Pikal. Each of the institutions will welcome us with an address from the director and an original program. We will be presented with the graphic biennale, under the leadership of the KUD Ljud group, we will see the permanent exhibition in the Moderna galerija, we will hear Andrej Rozman's new rendition of Roza Cesarica by Marija Teresija, the overture and aria "Voi, che sapete" from the opera The Marriage of Figaro, the story of the Neanderthal flute from the Stone Age Divje Baba caves and were part of the presentation of the recording of animal voices. The pleasant evening will end at the headquarters of the Society of Slovenian Writers: in the villa at Tomšičeva 12, where Cabaret Pikalo will follow.
