Curing is a traditional event in Ptuj during the carnival season, rooted in pagan mysticism with ethnographic characters and topical satirical s carnival masks. For the inhabitants of the city and the surrounding area, it is masking part of their identity, part of a personal mantra, a bond with the mystical and an escape from the earthly world. During the Kurentovanje festival, there are many events in three sections Artfest, Etnofest and Karnevalfest.

Interesting fact: In February 2016, there were more than 5,000 participants, more than 800 participants and more than 100,000 visitors at more than 100 events in Ptuj.
