The presentation of the art of William S. Burroughs is best started with his words "Life is fragments", as these are the reason for the title of the exhibition. It is the first presentation of the writer and artist who comes to us from the Kunsthalle Wien in Vienna. In the visiting countries Razrežano, vrinjeno, čručno established itself as an extremely attractive exhibition due to the rich media network, which perfectly presents the visionary power of Burroughs' oeuvre. The exhibition comprises a thematic selection of his works created in various media: from sound cut-ups, visual collages and abstract paintings made with a shotgun, to rare books, films, photographs. The exhibition places special emphasis on collage techniques and cut-up, as he made a strong impression on various famous creators with these. His early experiments in collage, with all the possibilities they opened up, had such a wide influence on the use of tape-gluing and the form of lyrics by many musicians: The Beatles, Frank Zappa, Lou Reed, David Bowie, Brian Eno, Patti Smith, Laurie Anderson and Sonic Youth. The mentioned stars also visually honored their "idol". The Beatles put him on their album cover, he recited the song Star Me Kitten for REM... We will get to know the author through his free spirit, through association with American beatniks, among whom were Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg. Last but not least, the exhibition also highlights his idea of an electronic revolution, which was adopted by both hippies and punks, and later cybernists.
