Artists, dancers, admirers interpret in different ways what this fascinating body language, which creates satisfaction in the human soul with every movement, means to each individual. With these photos of professional dancers, this American photographer shows that dance is much more than just art.
Jordan Matter is a photographer from New York, who wants to show with his photos of dancers in motion, what is dance. He stopped the series of photos and released a hit single titled “Dancers Among Us", whose content it adorns 200 photos of professional dancers in everyday settings, such as streets, cafes, airports, public transport, etc. None of the recordings not digitally altered, and the dancers too they did not use special devices that would allow the photographer to take a better photo. This makes the project even more so impressive.
He drew the idea for the creation of the project from thoughts about to created photographs that would show the world through his (the author's) eyes. The people in the pictures, however, would be at a specific moment celebrated all the emotions of everyday life. The idea did not remain just a wish, as he attended dance performances and found his new colleagues, dancers who, in his opinion, are story tellers, qualified to do so they illustrate passion with their bodies.
He photographed dancers for three years across the American states, and with these photos he says that he should we live big and small moments ... and we recognize the beauty around us.
