Dandelion syrup: natural help for various problems

The dandelion plant can be used from roots to flowers. A tea is most often made from its root to help with digestive problems. Dandelion stems are considered to be body cleansers, regulate the metabolism, clean the blood and the stomach. They are also known for the fact that the milk in the stem removes warts.

Early spring dandelion leaves are used for preparation of salads. Dandelion flowers are also edible and are best picked at noon when they are most open. These are the most commonly used to prepare the syrup or honey, which can be added to various desserts, or drunk on its own as a syrup.

Preparation of homemade dandelion syrup

Collect dandelions in a meadow away from the road and snow-covered environment.
Ingridients:
– 200 grams of dandelion flowers together with the stem
– 2 lemons
– 1.5 liters of warm water
– 1 kg of sugar

Preparation instructions:
1. Chop the dandelion stems and flowers and pour hot water over them.
2. Add sliced lemons or squeezed lemon juice and cook everything together on low heat for about half an hour.
3. Strain the liquid, add sugar and cook for another 15 minutes.
4. Pour the hot syrup into sterilized bottles or jars and close carefully. Store in a dark and cool place.
