The festival, with the vision of bringing together the best comedies of the current season in one place, got rid of its local character in eighteen years. With its coming of age, it has become an important Slovenian theater event, which brings top theater creators from institutional and non-institutional theaters from all over Slovenia to Celje every year. The performances included in the competition program compete for the prize for the best performance, best director, best female comedian and best comedian of the year. They are awarded by an expert jury. Competition performances are also evaluated by the audience and thus choose the best performance according to the audience's evaluation. In addition, the audience chooses a comedian of the evening every night. In addition to the competition program, on Sundays we can also watch performances of the accompanying program, which this year consists of stand up comedies by Tadej Toša Zapufan.sn, Hübner's Marjetka, p. 89, directed by Samo M. Strelec, Mlakarjev Dohtar pod mus directed by Vito Taufer and the comedy Ti nori tenorji by the Kikinda Theater, which is also the closing performance of the festival. In the competition program, we will be able to watch eight of the most prominent comedies of this theater season. The opening comedy Krpan vs. Brdavs, directed by Marko Bratuš, was contributed by the Cultural Institute Kult. The modern version of well-known jokes about Slovenians and Bosnians is complemented by the play Svobodni zakon directed by Sam M. Strelac. Nero, directed by Matjaž Zupančič, and Gogol's Auditor, directed by Mateja Koležnik, prove that it is possible to laugh at the past. We will also share our laughter with SLG Celje, MGL, Koper Theater and SNG Nova Gorica. The first is the producer of Jesih's satire Triko directed by Luka Martin Škof, the second Mayenburg's Ugliness directed by Boris Kobal, followed by Petrolini's Chicchignola directed by Boris Cavazza and Goldini's Strange Adventure by the director who also produced the comedy Triko. Laughter is the best way to brighten up winter days.
