Robots are becoming more developed year by year, so they can be used for more and more demanding tasks. As a result, they are more and more embedded in our everyday life. That's why jump to the ninth Industrial Robotics Days (DIR 2015), which will take place from March 30 to April 3, 2015 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
DIR 2015 organized by students as a collaboration between robot manufacturers and Slovenian students of the University of Ljubljana and beyond. On the first day, the program will be different lectures by experts in the field of robotics. The main lecture will be given by the director of the institute, Jožef Stefan dr. Jadran Lenarčič, the state of robotics will be presented by leading robot manufacturers Yaskawa and ABB, and OneDrone will present quadcopters.
From Tuesday to Thursday, all registrants will be able to participate, and other visitors will be able to watch eight original and attractive applications, which are the fruit of student imagination and knowledge. Everyone will animate you in their own way, and you will be served coffee refreshments robot waiters (Epson), while the two-handed Yaskawa SDA 10 robot will prepare you a delicious robot cocktail. You will also assemble Lego bricks in the company of two robots, Fanuc and ABB, and the Yaskawa robots will compete with them, and they will try their hand at soldering. All participants logged in to the application”Stäubli - t-shirt washing", they will be able to take home a t-shirt with your photo. And what will the build look like? The visitor will first be photographed, the image will be adjusted by computer, and at the end, the Stäubli robot will transfer the photo to the t-shirt with the help of an air jet.
As part of the event, carving will also take place 3D models, where a filament robot will cut a 3D model designed in a CAD program out of Styrofoam. S Oculus Rift 3D glasses you will be able to venture into virtual reality, on the application remote control of the robot and you will be able to compete in overcoming the polygon. For guidance, you will use the Omega robot, with which you will manage the Kuko Youbot mobile platform.

On Friday, you will be able to go to professional excursion in the companies BSH and Odelo, where you will be able to see the use of robots in practice. It will also take place before the event itself the Robotchallenge competition, where participants will design robotic cells in the RobotStudio environment. Prior knowledge is not required, and the best solutions will be rewarded.
