Delage D12: Should Bugatti, Ferrari and Aston Martin Tremble?

Parts D12

Don't worry if you've never heard of Delage - the French car manufacturer has been "vegetating" since 1953. During Delago's heyday, in the 1920s and 1930s, they produced successful racing cars, but after the Second World War, the company collapsed due to strong post-war competition. Now they're back with the D12 hypercar and the ambitious goal of setting a record at the legendary Nürburgring.

Delange D12 powered by an in-house designed 7.6 liter V12, which for the D12 GT version produces 1,100 horsepower, and 1,010 for D12 Club. It is used in both versions eight-speed gearbox, and GT also won electric motor with an additional 90 horsepower. The mass of the new hypercar is less than 1,500 kilograms, namely both have a chassis, body and wheels from carbon fiber.

The car's design is aerodynamic almost to the extreme - it draws most of its inspiration from Formula 1. Like the Tramontana - or in a completely different genre, the Renault Twizy - the Delage D12 has two-seater tandem cabin. There are three screens on the instrument panel, and a large glass sunroof that opens forward allows both passengers to get in and out.

Production of the D12 hypercar will begin in early 2021, only 30 examples will be produced. And the price? At least 2 million euros. Despite its superior theoretical performance, will it be more affordable than the all-new Gordon Murray Automotive T50? We certainly can't wait to see if Delage lives up to its technical promises!
