Designed sushi

What happens when Umino Hiroyuki of the Umino Seaweed Shop and the advertising agency I&S BBDO get into a fight? Creative, designer sushi.

Umino Hiroyuki boasts a strong family tradition of dealing with seaweed, which inspired the idea for Design Crazy, which is actually a response to the ever-decreasing consumption of seaweed (it has been declining since the 2011 tsunami).

Design Nori is a project in which they played with traditional Japanese food and took it away sushi to a whole new level. They used a laser to carve tiny, sophisticated, cute patterns on seaweed, with which they want to encourage people to reach for this typical food more often. Can you resist him?

In the gallery below, see what patterns you can use to spice up your sushi.
