Spring is perfect for spring detoxification of the body, which is the basis of efficient functioning of the organism, restoration and rejuvenation. For a feeling of even greater vitality, it should be followed by a varied spring menu with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and our favorite form of sports activity.
Spring is - psychologically, emotionally and energetically - the time when we can breathe easy again. At the transition of the seasons, changes occur not only in nature, but also in our body. In winter, we exercise less and eat heavier food, and as a result, harmful substances accumulate in our body, which must be gotten rid of in spring. By cleansing the body, we will prepare the body for a different rhythm, wake it up, speed up metabolism, stimulate liver function, reduce body weight, strengthen the immune system, eliminate headaches and restore the skin's natural shine.
Detoxification for beginners
We know quite a few forms of body purification, from the strictest, which include strict fasting for several days and the use of laxatives, to the gentler ones, which are mainly based on a healthier way of eating. Since excessive denial is a big shock to the body, it is important to choose a form of detoxification that really suits us. Detoxification will already be effective if we eliminate coffee, alcohol, salt, sugar, flour, bad fats, meat and dairy products from our menu for a few days and instead eat as many raw fruits and vegetables as possible. Vegetable soups, cooked vegetables, light salads and fruit and vegetable smoothies are also allowed.
A one-day cleansing fast with juices
For those who are a bit braver, juice fasting is an excellent choice, because with the help of freshly prepared fruit and vegetable juices, the body is successfully detoxified, cleansed and renewed. We start the day with a glass of lukewarm lemonade, which will always stimulate the functioning of the liver. Instead of breakfast, we brew half a liter of herbal tea, which we drink until lunch. At lunchtime, use a blender or juicer to prepare a juice from any mixture of fruits and vegetables that replaces the main meal of the day. We continue the day by drinking unsweetened teas and water, because during the fasting period we must enter at least two liters of liquid into the body. This is the only way to adequately hydrate the body, and the liquid also helps in cleaning the body. In the evening, we prepare juice again from fresh fruit or vegetables and consume it instead of dinner. We choose between vegetables and fruits, which are famous for their purifying effects. These are carrots, spinach, cabbage, celery, cucumbers, broccoli, kale and beets, pineapples, apples, grapefruits, oranges, lemons and apples. If the hunger is too strong, we can indulge in a fruit or two. After a one-day fast, don't forget to continue with the spring diet, which includes as many fresh fruits and vegetables as possible, as well as stimulating spices - cinnamon, ginger, chili, turmeric, coriander, cayenne pepper - which help speed up metabolism. Only a light diet ensures an easy spring step.
Dry body brushing
Dry brushing is one of the simplest, but at the same time, the most effective procedures for detoxifying the body, because in this way we stimulate the functioning of the lymphatic system, which removes toxins and other waste materials from our skin on a daily basis. Dry brushing also has a beneficial effect on the appearance of the skin, as brushing removes dead epidermis, opens clogged pores, accelerates blood circulation and stimulates the renewal of skin cells. After just a few days, our skin will be smoother, brighter and tighter, and with regular brushing and changes in other lifestyle habits, the orange skin will also disappear. Choose a brush made of natural materials, with which you brush your body at least once a day. Brush the body in circular motions, always in the direction of the heart. After completing the procedure, step into the shower and shower alternately with warm and cold water, which further accelerates circulation.
Goodbye, toxic substances
It is difficult to imagine cleaning the body if we do not give up bad vices during the process, such as smoking, drinking alcohol and coffee, and consuming unhealthy amounts of sugar, drugs, artificial sweeteners and dyes, and additives. During detoxification, we should also consider the use of chemically rich cosmetics and cleaners. Giving up all these substances can improve both our mental and physical well-being in a short time.
Spring exercise
Regular physical activity is also important for successful detoxification of the body, which stimulates blood circulation, accelerates metabolism, improves physical resistance and banishes spring fatigue. Why not wake up half an hour earlier than usual and do some dynamic exercises after drinking lemon water? Exercising early in the morning improves mood and reduces appetite. These can be classic sit-ups, push-ups and squats, but we can also decide to do yoga, seesaw jumping or running in place. When time permits, we go out into nature, for a relaxing walk, an easy run or a happy bike ride. We also try Nordic walking and finally go to the mountains again. Let's speed up our heart rate, activate our muscles and take a deep breath of fresh air. We also include family members in the movement, with whom we will achieve the set goals even more cheerfully.

Yoga exercises help release tension in the body, speed up digestion and stimulate the functioning of the liver and kidneys, thus accelerating the elimination of toxins from the body. The three-part breathing asana is performed by sitting straight and placing your hands on your knees. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and fill your stomach with air. When exhaling, push the navel towards the spine and exhale. Breathe through the nose and repeat six times. We continue by filling the chest with air in addition to the abdomen. We start with the upper part of the chest, continue with the lower part and finish with the abdomen. In the same order, slowly exhale and push the navel towards the spine. After six repetitions, we continue with the bridge position. Lie down on the floor and bend your knees. Feet should be hip-width apart, hands next to the body with palms facing down. With an inhale, lift the hips up, stay in the position for a few moments, and with an exhale, lower the hips back to the floor. We repeat six times and finish the exercise with a half twist of the spine. Stretch your legs in front of you, place your left foot on the right side of your right leg, hug your left knee with your right hand and look back to the left. Place the left hand behind the body on the floor. Hold the position for six breaths and repeat on the other side. When we finish, we hug our knees in front of our body and straighten our back.
