Anna Karenina is a story of great love that collides with the barriers that we humans have set up in society. A refined noblewoman, a caring mother and a faithful wife are the three roles that the main character should play for the rest of her life, according to all the written and unwritten laws of Russian society of the 19th century. However, because she is overcome by passion, she must pay for her transgression by excommunication and the loss of her rights to her son, which pushes her into an accident from which she sees no other way out than death.
She will perform in the role of Ana Half soup, in the role of her husband Matjaž Tribušon. Valter Dragan, Črt Veselko, Maksim Kajtimar Rozman, Iva Babić, Zvezdana Mlakar, Maja Sever, Klemen Janežič, Barbara Žefran, Gorazd Logar, Zvone Hribar and Matija Rozman will appear in other roles.
The eternal love story is relevant even today due to questions of morality and societal pressure, and the play is especially important for this year's high school graduates, as Anna Karenina is required reading for the Slovene graduation exam.
