Dveri pax, Ptujska klet and Zlati grič – Styrian wine triumph in Ljubljana

Dveri pax, Ptujska klet and Zlati grič, three eminent and well-established wine cellars, presented themselves today in the Slovenian capital to the widest crowd of wine lovers. Styria's wine triumph in Ljubljana was the result of winning as many as four regional trophies at one of the most established international wine evaluations in the world - Decanter.

The London evaluation thus brought together three typical representatives of the wine-growing region of Styrian Slovenia, who, following their success, also presented their fillings to Slovenian connoisseurs and lovers of a noble drop alongside Styrian cuisine. Three cellars and three stories united in one pride. And this pride, captured in bottles, generously presented today.

The premiere union of three top winemakers is a Slovenian precedent, rounding off the best oenological offer of the wine-growing region with the aim of priceless wine promotion. The first step of the joint performance is a joint presentation of everyone in Ljubljana's Križanke, which the organizers enhanced with an authentic Styrian gastronomic offer, open to the public. In this way, every wine lover has the opportunity to get to know individual wineries in the most authentic way, under the expert guidance of top and awarded oenologists, with the typical fingerprint of the region or individual wineries. He can create a subjective impression with all his senses and upgrade his genetic memory. Through different approaches to creating wines, through superior protective technology, combined with almost a thousand-year tradition, and through the substantive coordination of the carriers of wine production in Styria, pleasure becomes a lasting experience.

Bringing boutique winemakers together in the way that Dveri pax, Ptujska klet and Zlati grič have been implemented is the key to creating a common Slovenian wine story that goes beyond just the wine-growing region. Specializing in limited but top-quality bottlings is an excellent tool for market breakthroughs, but if we add content-related integration to this, the boutique becomes a large network in which wine lovers can enjoy the best of Slovenian soil, knowledge and work.

Dveri-Pax

This year, as in all previous years, the Jarenin wine cellar reached for the highest awards at the prestigious and at the same time the world's largest selection of Decanter wines in London. This year they are once again extremely proud of the title of the regional trophy for Šipon straw wine 2012, for the wine Šipon 2012 and Chardonnay Vajgen 2011, which received a silver award, and for the Rhenish Riesling 2012, which received a bronze award.

They are especially looking forward to the two silver awards that the Modra Frankinja and Modra Pinot wines received, as these are the first two red wines of the Dveri-Pax winery to win a silver medal from such an important selection of wines. The wines Benedict red 2011 and Pinot Gris 2012 Dveri-Pax received the title of recommended wine. The production of wines in this winery is constantly increasing. Their current market is represented by EU member states, Australia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. For the second year already, they have been "flying" their wines in the first class of the Lufthansa airline, and in the last period they have also penetrated the demanding Chinese market and satisfy the tastes of the most demanding wine lovers in Russia.

Ptuj cellar

The Ptuj cellar made another breakthrough in the last period. In addition to the double regional trophy at Decanter, the surplus is certainly winning the prestigious title of the best winery of the year in Slovenia for the second time in a row at the international evaluation of AWC Vienna in Austria. We continued to consolidate Haložan as a synonym for ŠpriCar - successfully, we tripled sales in the USA and are opening new sales channels. We were the proud official winemaker of the European Capital of Culture Maribor 2012, the proud official winemaker of the Ljubljana Festival, the official wine of the Days of Poetry and Wine, even the famous rock band Elvis Jackson has our wine for his own. According to independent research, our Pullus fillings have become one of the most recognizable brands in Slovenia. And this after less than six years on the market! With unforgettable tastes, a rich tradition and a recognizable style, this year we are aiming even higher.

Golden Hill

In the center of the idyllic Škalce estate, in Slovenske Konjice, the Zlati grič wine cellar blends into the surroundings. Built in the spring of 2009, it is technologically and architecturally one of the most modern buildings of its kind in Europe. With the new, most technologically advanced wine cellar and the arrival of the young and penetrating oenologist Saš Topolšek, the viticulture and winemaking of Slovenske Konjice jumped almost a hundred years and became firmly anchored in the Slovenian wine business. They are successfully building the wine story into a treasure trove of complete experiences that includes a wonderful golf course, culinary indulgences and tourism. They see their improvement in the constant following of trends in all areas, the high and constant quality of wines, the development of prestigious lines of wines and recognized sparkling wines, which mature according to the classic method in the peace of the cellars of Žička Kartuzija. This year has been extremely successful for the Styrian winery Zlati grič. In addition to the regional Decanter trophy for Pinot Noir 2012, she received another award at that competition, namely the bronze Decanter award for Rhenish Riesling, 2012, semi-dry.
