Going to the cinema can actually be an experience for all the senses. The collaboration between Soho House and Teatime Production gave birth to the Edible Cinema, a cinema where we can watch and taste the film, as we are offered delicious menus with dishes that correspond to the scenes in the film.
Edible Cinema in London serves each visitor with a tray where they are numbered containers, and these contain a smaller amount of food or drink. The containers are then opened by the audience as they are ordered during the movie.
Kino works together with experimental chefs Blanch & Shock, which create interesting dishes, and these refer to the environment, words and feelings in a certain film scene.

During the movie Pan's Labyrinth (2006) the audience was served smoky pine-scented popcorn, as in the scene the character was running through a pine forest. Thus, they recreated the smell of the pine forest, along with the "crunchiness" of his footsteps.
The next film that the audience will both watch and taste is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Čarli and the Chocolate Factory, 2005). Some of the delights on the menu include a bubblegum that tastes like a three-course meal and a chocolate-covered, Augustus-flavored dish.
The tickets are of course sold out, but maybe we can have better luck next time.
