They observe, research, photograph, record, immortalize. The young and up-and-coming video production team of OSM films started its journey with a big annual challenge. Last year, 365 memories were captured in the photographic lens, one every day, although things did not always go according to plan.
The first day of the year, in addition to the beginning of the realization of New Year's resolutions, is also the day when we can tackle very special projects. On January 1, 2014, she is so young video production team OSM films started the project #365.spominov./#365.memories., whose goal was everyday take one photo per year. They are together with the first photo Blaž Miklič and Tina Lagler launched their video production and photography team, with which they strive for quality and OSM products.
Although they recorded some videos a year earlier, when they met, they decided that they wanted to do it professionally as well. In order to test how they work as a team and to draw attention to a wider circle of people, they decided to start the #365.memories project, which at first glance, as they say, did not seem difficult: "It sounded quite simple, but we took the challenge seriously and made it a little more difficult with weekly challenges. For half a year, we learned various photography techniques or hunted for interesting motifs, such as patterns, reflections, portraits, HDR technique... Whenever someone invited us on a trip, we gladly accepted the invitation, because it meant a different environment, even more interesting photos, at the same time, a lot of unforgettable experiences and insights.”
A memory of every day of the year
Towards the end of the year, in October and November, they admittedly couldn't wait for the project to be over, as they were tired of the bad weather, which did not inspire them with new motifs and ideas, which were previously coming on the fly. Despite this, they insisted that they would finish the project, but it didn't always go smoothly. »We once had to withdraw one of the photos late at night due to circumstances, but we only got a replacement photo at the last minute. Sometimes work commitments also caused us headaches, which prevented us from taking advantage of a moment. We are most sorry for those moments for which there was no time or we did not have a camera at hand," they explain and add that today exactly all 365 photos adorn the wall of their office: "It's crazy when you look back and remember all the things that happened on that particular day."
The camera became their everyday companion. Wherever they go, it is with them, because every day they learn and improve both photography and image processing, which also comes in handy when recording and creating videos. This year they are with video draw. started a new big project OSM minutes 2015/OSM minutes of 2015, as they want to devote their time mainly to moving pictures. Each week, strengthened with new power, they will record a video about a minute long, which means that at the end of the year they will be able to show more than 53 minutes of this year's experiences.
OSM as "awesome"
The OSM films team probably wouldn't have been called that if Blaž hadn't been working in Austria a few years ago, where he and his foreign friends talked about how to say a certain number in a certain language. When Blaž said that in Slovenian the number 8 is called "eight", a South African was so excited, because the word "osm" sounds like "awesome" in English, which means "magnificent, crazy". »So why not have an "eight" name and do, record and photograph "awesome" things? It seemed even crazier to us that the horizontal eight, which we also have in our logo, also means infinity, because there are endless unique things happening around us," behind their name stand two young creators, who were joined last summer by the cat Muna, and this year they will be joined by some additional strength. »If we want to achieve all the goals we have set for this year, someone else will definitely join us."
