'Elastic Lights' is a whimsical collection of bendable ceramic lamps for the home that questions the role of traditional ceramic objects.
Ceramics. It is often seen in everyday objects, but rarely as a part mechanism. On the other hand, it does mechanical ceramics often used in advanced technology. Project goal 'Elastic Lights' is to challenge traditional ceramics by designing an articulated mechanism that explores the technical properties of the material, offering colorful, fun and rigorously open system. Simple ones geometric components related to elastic cords they reveal function as a visual element.
The playfulness of the system invites us to manipulate the lamps and enjoy changing their appearance. The entire lamp is a mechanism, and at the same time each lamp can form larger, more complex and interconnected compositions. The versatility of the collection and the vibrant colors enliven the room and give it a somewhat eccentric touch.
