After Marcel Dettmann and Ben Klock, the most eminent resident of the notorious Berghain is finally coming to Elements: Shed!
Rene Pawlowitz is above all a romantic with a big scrotum, as he recreates the pioneering era of techno, when experimentation and genre leaps were not yet considered exotic. The most innovative but also consistent producer of the last three years, he initially became famous for his club jams under the aliases EQD, WAX and STP, in which he combines the cold Berlin underground with Detroit melancholy, while Shed shines most on his full-lengths. On his debut Shedding The Past, he dealt with techno nostalgia with a look into the future, and on last year's The Traveller, he mixed jungle, UK hardcore and breakbeat into his characteristic sound, earning non-stop fellatio from electronic portals like Resident Advisor. Rene also proved his solid nature in a brutal duet with Dettmann under the name Deuce and on Berghain's recent compilation entitled Fünf, and his tracks were remixed by Surgeon and Martyn, among others.
This time, on the smaller of the dance floors, the definition of what constitutes electro will be decided, as orthodox conservatives will finally cross noses with the pagans from Smetnjak.
Hard and proper, on Friday, February 25th!
