Firefighters who take care of fire safety at the Nürburgring, Germany's public race track, had a dream come true in mid-August when the guys from Nissan brought them (and gave them) probably the fastest fire truck. The sporty Nissan GT-R was converted into a fire engine by the Bonn company M & M Automotive. Instead of the rear seats, they installed a 50-liter tank for fire extinguishers, equipped it with a pump (20 bar) and a fire hose. Despite the 200 kilograms of extra weight, the 357 kilowatt Nissan fire engine is still capable of covering the 19-kilometer course in less than 8 minutes.
