At the end of the week, the traditional kurentanje begins, which, in addition to cultural and ethnographic events, also brings some musical delights. Among other things, the dance floor will be enlivened by the Blue Orchestra, and they will be joined by the Flying Squad.
There will be enough winter for this year, say the curents, who will hold their unique event - Curing – they start at the end of February, when will be the Carnival Hall in Ptuj turned into a real concert mania. They are opening the curent Severina & Band and Blue ones, for which tickets have already gone out, and well-known rockers will perform, among others Blue orchestra, Flying Squad and Dirty theatre.
Pop rock band Plavi orkestar is well known to everyone, if not legendary. They are in the early eighties Saša Losić itchy fingers and he started a band Sheva's orchestra, with which he would hum and make music. However, the radio editors did not want to play their music because of the name, so Lošić and the brothers Admir and Samir Ćeremida in 1983, with improvised instruments as the Blue Orchestra, they played their songs in the basement of one of Sarajevo's streets. Rehearsing the work of the master, if the master works the rehearsing, undoubtedly applies to ambitious musicians, because through concerts and hard work, they made their way among the more famous bands of the time, as they were White button, Indexes and No smoking.
Although the fate of the former Yugoslavia was not written on their skin, as they split up during the war - Lošić moved to Ljubljana, guitarist Mladen Pavičić to Canada, and the Ćeremid brothers defended the Sarajevo flag in the trenches above the city - after the war they put their heads and instruments together and created their best-selling record in 1998 Longplay. Guys who are also accompanied by another electric guitar Saša Zalepugin, have sold five million records and played more than 3,500 concerts in Europe, mainly in the countries of the former Yugoslavia, in their more than thirty years of existence. The last album Seven hit the shelves two years ago, and there's no doubt that in addition to the big hits at Kurentovanje, we'll also hear some slightly younger pieces. The Blue Orchestra is coming to Ptuj together with the Flying Squad, but there will also be a DJ to ensure that there is no shortage of music.
