On March 21, 2013, REMA will organize its European Early Music Day for the first time. With concerts, conferences and other events that will take place all over the continent at the same time, this day will be a living monument to the European heritage of early music and will try to bring this type of music closer to a wide audience.

Early music is a central part of the cultural heritage of Europeans and is closely related to other forms of artistic expression such as dance, theater and architecture. It covers more than a thousand years of music, preserved either in writing or through oral tradition, from the Middle Ages to the end of the 18th century. While some of the composers who worked during these periods are widely known (Johann Sebastian Bach, Claudio Monteverdi, Hildegard von Bingen), there is still a large repertoire waiting to be rediscovered by today's audiences. REMA European Early Music Day will increase awareness of music from the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque periods and significantly change the way it is communicated to a wider audience.
