Do you pay attention to sitting? Since modern technology has advanced at the speed of light, people have everything right in front of their noses - all information is available with the click of a mouse. At the same time, this means that we spend more and more time sitting these days, which the birds are already chirping about is not the best for us.
Sitting it is a way of life in the 21st century. With today's lifestyle we spend more and more time by television, but especially by computers. Many of us already spend eight hours a day in front of a computer screen at work, and then we spend the evenings in front of television sets - of course, lying down or sitting down. From a young age, however, we hear that too much sitting is not good for us in any way.
Fortunately, not everything is as bleak as it seems at first glance (not on the TV screen, of course!) - researchers from the University of Exeter followed 5,000 participants for 16 years and measured their sitting time (at work, in front of the TV and so on) and came up with a very interesting one findings – namely, they found absolutely no parallel between long-term sitting and increased mortality rate, as they assumed until now.
And how is that even possible? They found that most of those who spent long hours sitting down (be it at work or in their private lives), engaged in sports at least 12 hours a week.

Sitting is therefore not harmful in itself, if we also take care of it sufficient movement. The only connection between sitting and poorer health occurs when we do not take care of enough movement ourselves and therefore of course do not use enough energy and do not exercise our body enough, which sooner or later leads to obesity and related problems.
And what does that mean? So we can cancel the long hours we spend sitting down with a few hours intense exercises per week? You can!
The researchers found that most of the study participants who sat for more than 8 hours a day walked or biked to work, getting enough exercise. Every day at least 40 minutes of moderate exercise so it can prevent the bad effects of sitting. So hop on a bike after work, but if you don't have that option, then when you get home, dance around the room and do a few squats - even small ones positive changes can bring the desired results.
