The Crystal C exhibition will travel to New York in the spring, followed by Sao Paulo. But it will be on display in Ljubljana at the beginning of February. Jaša Mrevlje Pollak is signed under it.
Jaša Mrevlje Pollak's work comes from painting, but he never lacks performance. Thus, Crystal C is also a live performance. The project will connect two venues of contemporary art - Galerija Vžigalica and KC Tobačna 001. As written in the presentation, "the artist will thus have the opportunity to present an "exhibition diptych" of two exhibitions, which are connected in content, but at the same time each tells the visitor its own story."
Crystal C has an elixir at its core, which he develops together with an alchemist, and the key ingredients of the elixir are various substances that cause emotional states. When the elixir is perfect, its "mystery recipe" will be destroyed, and we will always only be able to guess what it consists of. Crystal C is an almost black liquid that will be presented in a bottle, which can float. Did this description raise more questions? This was also the intention, Crystal C is difficult to describe in words, the performance has to be experienced.
And one more thing: after the February presentation here, the exhibition moves to New York to the center for artistic innovation Pioneer Works, and after that, most likely, to Sao Paulo for the biennial.
