A special exhibition is coming to Vienna dedicated to one of the greatest architects and artists of all time: Antoni Gaudí.
Exhibition entitled "Gaudí. Architecture Ahead of its Time'' will take place from October 2 to November 2 and will showcase the artist's unusual and forward-thinking method of creating his breathtaking designs.
The incredible artist and architect showed even as a child that he was something special, because due to rheumatism, which prevented him from running carefree with his peers, he was already impressing adults with his ability to observe and attention to detail. When a teacher at school once told him that birds can fly because they have wings, the young Gaudí replied that chickens also have wings, but they only use them for balanced walking.
The exhibition is divided into several parts: the first deals with biography Catalan architect, while the other is dedicated to his most famous buildings such as Casa Batlló, Park Güell and Sagrada Família, presented in the form of videos, plans and precise mock-ups and models. The third part is entirely dedicated to the artist's earlier works, many of which were of decisive importance for Gaudí's creative development.
Many models and the models that will be on display were used by Gaudí for many empirical calculations of the supporting structures and forms of the object in question, which he himself called: "my experimental methods". Gaudí, among others, was exceptional an innovative architect for his time, because with his creativity and endless curiosity, he "assembled" some foundations, which also today, still use in architecture.
The exhibition concludes with an extensive chapter on the artist's design projects, especially in the field furniture and interior design. Indeed, Gaudí devoted his attention to even the smallest detail of furniture design, among which the beautiful wooden chairs, which are also on display in Almost Batlló in Barcelona.
