Tihomir Pinter. A photographer who doesn't like flash and doesn't use it takes advantage of the light that is given. He takes his photographs himself, and considers working in the darkroom to be extremely important and creative.
Photographs by Tihomir Pinter can be seen at the current exhibition entitled Vintage: Early Works 1961 – 1975. Here his works are exhibited independently for the first time.
His early works are almost unknown to the public today Tihomir Pinter recognized mainly for "ironwork photography" and portraits of Slovenian artists. In addition, he did a lot of street photography, which was called "life" photography in the photography circles of Yugoslavia at the time. All the photographs in the exhibition, with the exception of one, were awarded and exhibited during the photo contests of the Photo Union of Yugoslavia.
The exhibition offers the visitor an insight into the work of a young artist who "even before paving his way, testing and treading on already trodden paths, is certainly interesting: insecurities, searches, and joyful finds of fragments from which "Pinter" will be built in the following years" are written down at the presentation. Vintage exhibition but it is only one of the exhibitions this year. On the occasion of the author's seventy-fifth birthday, his photographs were already on display in the Gorenj Museum and the Kočevje Regional Museum. In November, an exhibition of portraits is being prepared by the Slovenian Cultural Center in Vienna as part of Korotan, the Slovenian cultural and scientific center in Vienna.
