In autumn, Vienna will turn into an international photography center. From October 25 to November 30, this cultural capital will host the photography festival Eyes On: Photography Month Vienna. As part of this major photography event, it will be possible to see over 150 exhibitions and take part in a rich accompanying program. The festival will be divided into five thematic sections, which will cover topics from current social to aesthetic issues of photography.
Eyes On: Month of Photography Vienna is a unique international project that will from October 25 to November 30 offered all professional and lay lovers of photography a series of interesting exhibitions and events related to photography. The festival offers institutions, artists and photographers the opportunity to present their projects to a wider audience, and visitors a high-quality and in-depth contact with art. The festival that is taking place this year for the seventh time, will host in a good month more than 150 events in various locations around Vienna - among others, the festival will be hosted by a gallery Albertina, Kunst Haus Wien, Vienna Museum and MUSA.
The festival will be divided into five thematic setsin. Photographs Thin Lines and Borders will try to explain, interpret and approximate the current the refugee crisis in Europe. The set of photos grouped under the title also belongs to the same theme Looking for the Clouds, which will try to explain political and social events from September 11, 2011 to the present. The second theme of the festival will be titled Processing Photography and will show the development of photography from a technical and substantive point of view.
The third topic, which will be presented under the title The Beast Called Beauty, will deal with the question aesthetics in photography. Social documentary reports will be combined into a set Beyond The Time. Questions photography as a medium for learning about the world and as art and as such a mirror of society, the set with the title will be tackled Flash! Boom! Bang!. In addition to photography exhibitions, the festival will also take place rich companion program, in which it will be possible to participate in round tables with creators and guided tours of the exhibitions.
