Eyescape: wedding photos (literally) through the eyes of guests

Eyescape

It is often said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Self-taught Australian photographer Peter Adams-Shawn has made a name for himself by photographing weddings through the eyes of guests. Literally. He captured wedding moments in the reflection of his eyes. He took his first photo of this kind in 2011, and it became a habit in 2014. His works, which he calls Eyescape, are so incredible that the first man of the prestigious International Loupe Awards for photography justified him because he thought, that it is about stickers.

Under wedding photos we all imagine roughly the same scenes. A self-taught photographer Peter Adams-Shawn has invented an interesting niche within this kind of photography, because catches glimpses of the wedding through the reflection in the eyes of the guests. As he himself says, the best photos were taken when the guest was smiling, which can be seen in the photo, even though the shot only captures a detail of the face. In his works from the series Eyescape he doesn't use Photoshop, he only "borrows" the eyes of the guests, who sometimes know it and sometimes don't.
