For an exclusive performance in Cankarjev dom, the musicians of the Fake Orchestra group will replace electric instruments with acoustic ones and in a ten-member line-up with guests and singer Ana Vipotnik at the head, they will present more and less well-known folk songs from various Slovenian regions, naturally in new clothes.
The group Fake Orchestra founded in 1997 Igor Leonardi, guitarist, composer of theater and film music, ... In addition to him, the group also includes singer Ana Vipotnik, bassist Nino de Gleria, saxophonist Ana Šimenc, trumpeter Igor Matković, drummer Enos Kugler and withsaxophonist Primož Fleischman. Anyone who follows the Slovenian music scene will quickly see that these are excellent musical personalities with long and rich musical careers.
Fake Orchestra likes to listen to both older and younger audiences, because in the mix of different musical genres old Slovenian folk songs our grandfathers and grandmothers shine in a colorful modern guise. The music is pleasant a mixture of jazz, ethno and other musical admixtures and goes easily into the ear. The sounds of Italian songs, Brazilian samba and reggae rhythms intertwine with echoes of jazz evergreens, African rhythms and the energy of rock and funk.
A cast of exceptional musicians has recorded so far four albums; on the last with the title Where we find exclusively Slovenian folk songs in joyful sound images, which they mainly paint dance rhythms and jazz improvisations.
