Many roads cross the migration routes of many species of animals, which they use for seasonal migrations, for feeding, breeding or searching for a new habitat. It is true that animals can cross regional and local roads, but there is a danger of a vehicle colliding with animals. To mitigate the negative effects of roads and highways on the habitat of animals, special crossings for wild animals are being built around the world in the form of overpasses and underpasses.
Every year, thousands of animals end their lives on the road.
