Fashion conglomerate LVMH has launched new support for young fashion designers, an award and a financial injection to help them on their business journey.
Eight of their creative directors, Nicolas Ghesquière (Louis Vuitton), Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld (Fendi), Humberto Leon (Kenzo) and Carol Lim, Phoebe Philo (Céline), Raf Simons (Dior) and Riccardo Tisci (Givenchy) as well as Delphine Arnault, Jean-Paul Claverie, Bernard Arnault's adviser and Pierre-Yves Roussel will have the task of choosing a new talented, exceptional fashion designer from among all the submitted projects, who will receive a prestigious award that will open wide the door to the world fashion industry.
The chosen one will be awarded with a prize of 300,000 euros and a one-year mentoring of the luxury fashion empire in the development of the brand. LVMH Young Fashion Designers Prize competition, which appeals to designers under the age of 40 who have presented or sold two ready-to-wear collections, is already open, and the winner will be announced in May next year.
