Ferrari F12 TDF – a 12-cylinder maniac that has no real rival

Ferrari F12 TDF

Ferrari won us over with the F12 TDF model. If you think that the color yellow and the TDF logo are associated with the famous cycling race Tour de France, you are wrong. It is therefore associated with another famous race, the Tour de France, an endurance road test for horses of steel, which was held between 1899 and 1986 and where, in the 1950s and 1960s, Eddy Merckx's Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta was the octane "French bows'', i.e. serial winner.

Ferrari with the model F12 TDF reminds of his own winning the Tour de France, where he was the absolute ruler in the 1950s and 1960s. It was about races where the muscles were strained racers that had to master both roads and racetracks. They had to cover 400 kilometers every day, and Ferrari knew this best in the middle of the last century. Extreme sports model The F12 TDF is the epitome of this, a car that can be taken from the racetrack to the roads of mere mortals, and it's second to none on either terrain.

And now that we've taken the TDF label off the table, we realize that the Ferrari F12 TDF is actually extreme and an improved version of the F12 Berlinetta, which reduced its weight, increased the nominal power and tightened the folds (read: improved aerodynamics). She marries him naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V12 gasoline engine, capable of 574 kW (780 hp) of power at 8,500 rpm or 703 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm, with 4/5 of the power (!) available as early as 2,500 rpm. Power transmission is handled by the upgraded F1 DCT 7-speed gearbox, whose gear ratios have been shortened and allows for 40 percent better shift time into a lower gear and 30 into a higher one. This translates into better acceleration, so it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a jiffy. 2.9 seconds (Berlinetta needs 3.1 seconds), and it is at 200 km/h, when normal cars are only at 100 (7.9 seconds each). The maximum speed is extraterrestrial – 340 km/h!

These numbers took their toll on many parts of the car. Among other things, they are front wheel alignment (275 mm), which are eight percent wider than the last for improved dynamism of the athlete. For the first time in a Ferrari, an advanced system was installed in a car rear wheel steering system, which was named after him VSW, which is short for "Virtual Short Wheelbase", which will show its advantages especially in fast corners, as it will allow the driver more control over the vehicle. Of course, the aerodynamic pressure to the ground, which is as much as 87 percent, and the exceptional vacuum goes to the soul of the larger spoiler, the multitude of slits, the modified air bridge on the front bumpers and the fresh air deflector at the front.

Ferrari put a TDF on the F12 model one-piece brake muzzles (read: jaws), which he also has LaFerrari and enable an extremely short braking distance (to stop from 100 to 0 km/h it takes only 30.5 meters, if it starts braking at 200 km/h, it comes to rest after only 121 meters). They are new carbon door panels, yes finely brushed Alcantara leather we don't even mention it. They will produce only 799 copies, so don't hesitate if you like it. Let's hope that you are one of the richest Slovenians, because it will definitely not be cheap.
