Exodus Festival

The Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts returns to the capital with two massive program sets, which can best be described as a broad overview of today's stage productions, geographically limited to the entire world. In the 18th edition of the festival, special attention is devoted to the Asian dance platform. Since it is a continent that is extremely active in the world of dance, the selectors had a lot of difficulty choosing only ten performances. A quick review of the selected choreographies of the aforementioned set shows that many performances play with the concept of gender or our ideas about it. Eisa Jocson will shock and inspire us in Death of a Pole Dancer, perhaps even more than Kate Moss in the I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself video. She performs on stage with Daniel Kok, so that the stereotypically female role also gets its male side. The same dancer will also present herself in the performance Macho ples. Her partner Daniel Kok is also coming to the festival with his own play Gay Romeo. The young dancer impressed already during his studies in London, when he was chosen among the best of his year. The artist Geumhyung Jeong, who creates from her fascination with hydraulic devices, is also interesting in the group. In addition to those mentioned, there is a whole series of creators who come to Exodos from the most prominent festivals dedicated to contemporary stage production. In the second part, among the thirteen performances, Prime Minister Maret Bulac stands out Gremo vsi! Of course, the theater director, who dramatized the successful novel Čefurji raus, will be tighter with information until the premiere itself. The selection of other performances offers foreign productions that, with their arrival, will expand domestic horizons, perhaps offering us and the theater profession many ideas for creating at home.
