This week, Maribor will be marked by contemporary dance and artistic performance. From October 1 to 5, as part of the Performa/Platforma 2014 festival, as many as fifteen events will take place in various locations, which will bring together top Slovenian and foreign artists in the Styrian capital.
We live in a time in which our actions are often the result of established habits, socially accepted rules and established recipes. This is also shown in art, where barely noticeable different movements that do not follow the rules of the system occur only on the periphery.

This year, the two contemporary dance festivals Performa and Platforma will come together in Maribor for the first time, and this week they will raise questions in connection with established artistic norms. At the festival Performa/Platform 2014 internationally established Slovenian and foreign artists in a state of constant search will show and expose themselves in all their vulnerability in front of the audience. Thus, in different locations (in the Puppet Theatre, Štuk, Vetrinjske Dvor, Media Nox Gallery and Dance Room) unfolded just fifteen events, which visitors can attend for free, except in the Puppet Theatre, where the ticket price is symbolic, from 1 to 3 euros.
This week in Maribor, with various dance performances, workshops, lectures and other performances, everything will be about artistic expression through contemporary dance.
