Between September 27 and October 1, 2016, the Sonica 2016 Festival will take place in Ljubljana. The five musically rich days will be related to the theme of SONIC.ARCHITECTURES. As the topic title suggests, this year's Sonica festival will deal with the issue of sound as a spatial phenomenon. Not this year's festival will be performed by Tim Hecker, Nonotak, Sebastien Benoits, Vessel, Spatial, Sally Golding, Christian Kroupa, Wo0, Incredible Bob, Martin Reiche, Staš Vrenko, Bojana Petković, Gašper Torkar and others.
Sonica Festival 2016, which will take place in the premises of the Cinema Šiška, the Rog Concert Hall and the new premises of the MoTE in Celovška from September 27 to October 1, will deal with the theme this year sound as an architectural event. The subject has a title SONIC.ARCHITECTURES. Within the latter, performers will play with the idea of how they can architecture and space change the sound and how can on the other hand sound helps to understand space.
In addition to great music, the five days of the festival will include exhibitions, lectures and workshops; this year it is also planned a two-day symposium SONIC.ARCHITECTURES which will discuss the aspect of sound as a way of thinking and revival of architecture and about the role of different artistic trends and strategies in the preservation of architectural heritage.

It will also be an important event of this year's festival opening of the new MoTA LAB on Celovška cesta. Within this event, an exhibition of light and sound installations will be on display by the French duo Nonotak. Of course, there will be plenty of good music. They will perform on the music stage of the Sonica 2016 festival, among others Tim Hecker, Vessel, Spatial, Sally Golding, Christian Kroupa, Staš Vrenko, Bojana Petković, Nicolas Maigret and Felic Caus & Levanael.
