Duff is a lighthearted but genuine comedy that delves into the deep dark, teasing labels that stuck with us in high school. It is an adaptation of the 17th-year novel of the same name by Kody Keplinger. You won't hear the term duff (''Designated Ugly Fat Friend'') in our school corridors, but there is no lack of similar signs that marked a good part of life for many people.
Duff (Dežuni Bajs) breaks through comical situations stereotypes about teasing labels, which reign in secondary schools. Although the term duff is foreign to us, every individual has felt a sense of inferiority in the circle of friends or colleagues, because we thought they were prettier, smarter, more talented... And what does the main protagonist of the film, Bianca (Mae Whitman), which is duff, to report? That despite all the labels we define who we are. But the path to this realization can be thorny, especially if we don't have the right people around us. Well, she is helped a lot by handsome Wesley (Robbie Amell), which she despised at first.
