Cooking is an art. Of course, just as you can paint anything on a canvas, you can also throw anything on a plate. But the canvas can also be a surface for wonderful creations, like a plate - the chef's canvas - a place for the unforgettable tastes and smells of a culinary artist. But in order to create a work of art, both the visual artist and the culinary artist must work with their hearts. And this is where Carl Casper gets stuck as chef.
Well, not some fish bone in the throat, but Riva (Dustin Hoffman), owner of a prominent Los Angeles restaurant where Carl (Jon Favreau, actor, screenwriter and director) works as kitchen chef. This does not allow him artistic freedom menus and when bad reviews from the evaluators are thrown into the situation,… you know, too many cooks spoil the soup,… that Carl termination.
But if he knows the recipe for almost every dish, he does not know the recipe for further life. So he experiments and throws some interesting ingredients into the situation, like Miami, ex-wife (Sofia Vergara), friend and estranged son. And although he agreed on the road, the road saves him in the end, because in mobile kitchen he rediscovers not only his passion for cooking, which he acquired in the role of chef, but also joy of life and love.
Although it goes without saying that you should not go to the cinema after watching this film hungry, but don't let your stomach be too full, because it's hard to eat (too) full laugh.
