The new Ford EcoSport offers users even more style, comfort, performance and choice - it successfully combines the functionality of a rugged SUV with the practicality of a city car. With improvements in quality, technologies and performance, it is the new Ford EcoSport SUV even more confident and comfortable. For the first time, it is available with Ford's intelligent four-wheel drive for better traction on asphalt and off-road, and for the first time it has an all-new powerful and economical 1.5-liter EcoBlue diesel engine with 125 hp and more optimal CO emissions2.
The backpack straps inspired the design of the fog lights
It is typical for the new EcoSport bold and dynamic design of Ford SUVs, which mirrors the features of the medium-sized Kuga and the large Edge. Its rugged and at the same time elegant exterior is available in 12 bold colors and offers even more options for a personal touch, including a contrasting roof color covering the window pillars, upper door frame, roof spoiler and exterior mirrors.
A sculpted bonnet with a 'bulge' in the center accentuates the more prominent front end. The view from the front is immediately drawn by the new large trapezoidal grille in front of the engine and the characteristic angular headlights, which are now also available in xenon design and include stylish LED daytime running lights. Angular fog lamp housings complete the front profile, which reflects an adventurous character, inspired by backpack straps.
The shape of the rear bumper and taillights have also been changed for a cleaner and more sculpted look. The new 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels complement the rugged sporty character and are available in various designs. Even with the new EcoSport, you can choose a characteristic spare wheel mounted on the tailgate.
The EcoSport has joined the Ford Edge and Kuga models in the range of Ford SUVs for Europe. This year they will be joined by a new 'crossover' – the Fiesta Active with features of an SUV.
Fewer switches, more disposable surfaces
User-centered, more prestigious the new interior provides an exceptional experience for both driver and passengers. The EcoSport brings a new level of interior sophistication with easier-to-use switches and other controls, soft-touch materials and a new center console that is ergonomically designed for easy operation and has fewer buttons. The new seats are optimally adapted to the comfort of the passengers in the front and rear of the vehicle, and for a more prestigious feeling, they are also available with partial leather upholstery. By choosing one of the seven colors of the adjustable lighting, you can also adjust the atmosphere in the vehicle to your mood.
It's inside many sophisticated storage solutions, such as the new adjustable trunk floor. This provides a hidden compartment in the upper position, and in the lower position, the trunk volume increases to 334 liters. The bottom of the trunk is made of a special honeycomb that can carry more than 300 kilograms. The new center console features a folding and longitudinally adjustable armrest with a compartment where you can store a tablet or snacks.
A really fun ride
Ford's proverbial exceptional driving experience of their vehicles is complemented by the EcoSport the new B&O PLAY sound system, which provides a superb sound experience. The system is specially calibrated for use in the EcoSport and includes ten speakers, including a bass speaker (subwoofer) in the trunk and a mid-range speaker in the center of the dashboard, and works with the latest amplifier with digital sound processing for a precise and balanced sound image, available and there is also surround sound (Surround Sound).
Powerful and economical at the same time
The new EcoSport also ensures an optimal driving experience with Ford's smart all-wheel drive. This technology is available in combination with an all-new 1.5 liter Ford EcoBlue diesel engine with 125 hp and 300 Nm of torque and a six-speed manual transmission.
The intelligent four-wheel drive (AWD) constantly measures the grip of the tires on the road and can distribute the torque between the front and rear wheels in a ratio of up to 50:50 in less than 20 milliseconds – twenty times faster than the blink of an eye. The system ensures flawless transmission of torque to all four wheels to enable optimal control and traction, especially on slippery roads. It will be available on the Slovenian market later in 2018.
Advanced driver assistance technologies
The new Ford SUV with a high seating position with good visibility and excellent Ford driving dynamics for easy driving with plenty of pleasure are complemented by a number of advanced technologies. Ford's ultimate SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system is compatible with the programs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™. It supports the EcoSport's floating 8-inch or 6.5-inch color touchscreen, which also enables gesture control such as 'pinch' and 'swipe'. The 4.2-inch color screen is available in combination with a Bluetooth connection and two USB ports.
EcoSport is available for the first time with cruise control with adjustable speed limiter, which makes it easier for the driver to comply with speed limits, and reversing camera for easier and safer parking. Even the possibility of automatically turning on the headlights and wipers with a rain sensor removes some of the stress of driving and allows the driver to focus more on traffic, while the heated steering wheel and automatic electronic climate control provide greater comfort. The electrically adjustable exterior mirrors are heated, so that despite the freezing cold in the morning, we can set off as quickly as possible. Driver assistance technologies include Ford's Blind Spot Information System, which alerts the driver to approaching vehicles, and standard Roll and Stability Control, which helps the driver maintain control by adjusting engine torque and braking. Which is an extremely handy feature when embarking on off-road and off-road adventures.
