Ford GT supercar – the legend has risen from the dead

Last year, Ford celebrated 50 years of their GT40 winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Such anniversaries deserve special attention, a special event that marks them. At Ford, one of the largest car manufacturers in the world, they decided to present the new G model for this purpose. But let's stay for a moment in Ford's history of super sports cars. At the beginning of the 1960s, Henry Ford II. wanted to buy the Ferrari company, but the deal fell through. "If we can't buy a prestigious sports car, we'll make one ourselves," said Ford, and that's how the story of GT supercars began. Now, over 50 years later, they boast the latest in the GT family.

3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 engine with two turbines, powered by a little more than 640 'horses', is the most powerful engine from this series to date. Some connoisseurs were skeptical about only 6 cylinders, but due to the lower weight of the engine, they will quickly forget this difference compared to its predecessor. The speedometer stops at 437 km/h.

Bodywork supercar consist of carbon fiber, which slightly reduce the overall weight. And even otherwise they are at Ford all the time thinking about the weight, since they used a lightweight one for the chassis aluminum, and the brake discs are carbon-ceramic. A supercar GT will be even taller adjustable suspension and 20-inch Michelin Pilot Super Sport cup wheels.

Extraordinary aerodynamic form it works futuristic, although they still paid homage to the legendary with some elements GT40. Especially with aerodynamics have made sure that the GT supercar will be exploited air currents around the body still more efficient. Air deflector, which is mounted on the rear and is adjustable in height and inclination, will help you with adaptation driving conditions. Interior it is quite different from its predecessors, as it no longer has the touch of the past. Most of the function switches are right on the steering wheel, and the instrument panel, which is not much bigger than a smartphone, is entirely digital.
