Ford Mustang Lithium: Electric Mustang

Mustang Lithium

SEMA in Las Vegas is an important event for American automakers, and to that end, Ford has created an all-electric Mustang, the Mustang Lithium.

Mustang Lithium produces 1355 nm of torque and more than 900 horsepower. This makes it the most powerful Mustang Ford has ever produced. All this power does not come from the Mustang's "standard" 5-liter V8 engine, but from two electric motors. Although this is only a unique example, i.e. a car made especially for the fair SEMA, is proof that Ford is already thinking about an electric future.

What is remarkable is that the Mustang Lithium is not "just another" electric sports car. It has 6-speed manual transmission. It also differs in that it doesn't actually look like an electric car at all. It's low and sleek, with additional carbon fiber bodywork and just a few shades of blue to suggest an electric heart.

This one-off prototype is intended to showcase Ford's commitment to an electrified future and hints at what to expect from Ford's electric and Mustang-based SUV, Mach E SUV, which should be officially presented in a few months. It is worth noting that Ford intends until the year 2022 to invest more than 11 billion dollars in electrified vehicles.
