In a world where beauty often comes in plastic bottles with ingredients we can't pronounce, more and more people are going back to basics. Natural, simple, effective. The first step? Cleansing – the real thing, without harsh chemicals and empty promises.

The skin is our largest organ. It's no surprise, then, that we're paying more and more attention not only to what we put on our skin, but also to what we put on it. no. The beauty industry has been selling us the idea for decades that we need whole armies of products for a clean, glowing face – micellar waters, oils, foams, balms... And then something else to clean what we used to clean. Double cleansing – a trend that you can also implement with homemade products!

But what if there was a simpler, smarter, and more natural way to double cleanse?

A natural approach to double cleansing

The concept of double cleansing is not new – it comes from Korean beauty tradition and involves two steps: first oil cleaner, then water. What is new, however, is our attitude towards ingredients. In recent years, we have seen an increasing interest in natural alternatives, which cleanse the skin without irritation and at the same time respect its microbiota.

And the best part? You probably already have most of these ingredients at home. We're not talking about exotic plants from the Amazon rainforest, but coconut oil, oats, rice, and herbs from your home kitchen.

1. Homemade Cleansing Balm: Nourishing Care in Its Purest Form

Let's start with the double cleansing method. Balms are great for those with sensitive or dry skin. The homemade version contains only four ingredients, but it works like the most luxurious cosmetics from the perfumery shelves.

Ingridients:

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil (unrefined)
  • 1 tablespoon shea butter
  • 1/2 tablespoon almond oil
  • a few drops of lavender essential oil (optional)

Process:
Melt the ingredients in a water bath, pour into a glass jar and let it harden. Use in the evening: apply to dry skin, massage in and remove with a warm, damp cloth.

The result? Skin that is nourished, soft and free of traces of makeup – no burning sensation, no redness.

2. Cleansing oil: minimalist luxury for every skin type – the basis for double cleansing

If you're a fan of oils but find industrial products often clog your pores, try a simple homemade blend. No additives, no fragrances, just pure function.

Ingridients:

  • 1 tablespoon jojoba oil
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower oil (cold pressed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon castor oil

Jojoba oil is the most similar in composition to the skin's natural sebum, so it regulates oil secretion. Castor oil works almost like a magnet - it draws impurities from pores. Use in the evening as the first step, then follow with a gentle cleansing gel or natural soap. The basis for double cleansing.

3. Natural micellar water with green tea

Micellar water, as we know it from drugstores, isn't always the best choice for sensitive skin. This homemade version, based on green tea, is mild, anti-inflammatory, and incredibly refreshing.

Ingridients:

  • 100 ml strong, chilled green tea
  • 1 teaspoon aloe vera
  • a few drops of chamomile or lavender essential oil

Use on a cotton pad or cloth, morning or evening. No need to rinse – the tea will soothe your skin and the aloe will moisturize it.

How to incorporate them into your routine?

Double cleansing with natural ingredients is simple:

  1. First the oil part – a balm or oil that removes makeup, SPF, and pollution.
  2. Then the water part – you can use a gentle goat milk soap, a natural gel, or even a light mixture of honey and oats.

The entire procedure takes less than five minutes, but the effect is noticeable after just a few days: the skin becomes more even, less reactive, and naturally radiant.

Make your bathroom less of a drugstore and more of an apothecary

There's something almost poetic about cleansing your face with the things you recently used to make lunch. The simplicity, honesty of the ingredients, and the absence of unnecessary chemicals create a more authentic relationship with your skin. Your path to double cleansing.

And perhaps that's what's most valuable in a beauty routine: a moment for yourself, without noise, without excess. Just you, water, oil - and the feeling that you're doing something good, for yourself and for the world around you.
