A French artist transformed the Louvre with an incredible optical illusion

Founded in 1793, the Louvre National Museum in Paris became richer for the famous glass pyramid 30 years ago. On the occasion of the jubilee, he received a very special gift.

French artist Jean Rene, known by his stage name Jr, stunned the public with optical illusion, which extends to 17,000 square meters. In creating a work of art consisting of 2000 paper slips, it helped him 400 volunteers. At first glance at a pyramid that is almost entirely submerged underground, many visitors were undoubtedly struck with fear.

JR is a project he named “The Secret of the Great Pyramid” (translated as 'The Secret of the Mighty Pyramid'), prepared with his team between March 26 and 29. He honored with this 30th anniversary of the existence of the Louvre pyramid and contributed his share to ceremonial event, which unfolded a day later. A building designed by a Chinese-American architect Yeoh Ming Pei, they officially opened March 30, 1989.

The paper installation quickly began to fall apart after the first visitors arrived. After last weekend, there wasn't much left of her. Good luck to you in the gallery below, expect photos that testify to the magnificence of the work of art.
