Fribo: a robot for singles and the lonely

Can you imagine having a robot at home that eavesdrops on you, uses artificial intelligence and shares what's happening with your friends on social networks? It sounds a bit scary, but from now on it will be possible.

Fribo is a social networking bot that South Korean innovators presented at an international conference ACM/IEEE. Its design, which resembles a cat, is extremely interesting. Perhaps the creators wanted to hint that Fribo can replace your pet.

The robot is capable of sensing normal sounds that we are used to listening to while doing housework. These include the sound of a vacuum cleaner, washing machine and various doors opening. For example, when you open the refrigerator door, Fribo finds out what you did and informs your friends about it in a joint conversation. He sends them a special message: "Someone opened the refrigerator door. What will my friend eat?”

Fribo is created in a way that allows it recognition of previously unknown sounds, so he can learn a lot over time. His ultrasonic sensor it helps determine whether you are in a room, and also measures temperature, humidity and light.

Fribo helps connect people who live alone.

Fribo was created with the intention that it strengthens the daily communication between the person and his friends. Interestingly, it does not reveal the identity of the perpetrator. If you live alone, it is more than obvious that you have done something wrong.
