The opening of the synaptic season this year will belong to a repulsed live act from under the fingers of an elegant Koln hipster Dapayk Solo!
Niklas Worgt swears by dirty vinyl sound without cold digitals and precise generic pickups. The monotony of generic production made him uncomfortable already in 1993, when he started to combine breakbeat and drum and bass with house and minimal techno. The roots of broken rhythms are still present in his live performances today.
Live act named "Frickelsound" it contains the right balance of funk and grime, strung over a basic and occasionally fractured tech and house line. Percussively implemented whimsical elements of jazz and film music round off his performance, which triggers colorful sound associations and says more than rigid definitions. Dapayk's active projects also include technoid alias Marek Bois and collaboration with Eva Padberg (Dapayk & Padberg). Their "Prickling sound" combines electronics, minimalism and breakbeat, touched but untainted by pop moments. Their first LP made the top 10 albums of 2005 for Groove, De-bug and Raveline. Currently still hot is Niklas' latest album Decade One. The thick list of hipster references can be completed with the names of labels such as his own Mo's Ferry and Resopal, Contexterrior and Trapez, and Niklas was also remixed by old acquaintances Noze, Mathias Kaden, Sutekh and others.
