Frozen Potatoes: How to make store-bought frozen fries

Why always buy frozen potatoes when you can freeze them at home. Let's look at some ways to make frozen fries at home.

1. Peel and boil the potatoes

2. Peel the potatoes and blanch them

That means putting it in boiling water for three to five minutes. If you are blanching whole potatoes, leave them in boiling water for ten minutes.

When you have finished blanching the potatoes, immediately put them in cold water and leave them to cook for as long as possible. Then drain it and put it in bags and in the freezer.

Be sure to mark the date of freezing on the bags and remember that potatoes stored in this way can be stored for up to 12 months.

A few more tips:

Do not freeze vegetables such as carrots, peas, green beans, always blanch them beforehand to maintain the desired texture and nutrient content.

If potatoes are to be frozen, this is usually in the form of pre-blanched vegetable mixes or baking potatoes or pommes frites.
