On Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16, Tobačna mesto in Ljubljana will host the main event as part of the Festival of Urban Culture of Slovenia, #FUKSi 2018. The concert part will feature one of the most recognizable big British bands, Morcheeba, techno pioneer Umek, champion of Baltic electronic scenes, Ten Walls, always playful Matter, eclectic Sladica, as well as Mike Vale, Urban Pfeifer and Žiga K from the Vala 202 team.
Morcheeb returns to Ljubljana on the wings of the ninth album Blaze away as part of a new world tour, which will take her across all continents through solo concerts and as festival headliners. You can already hear the new single on YouTube Never Undo, but of course there will be no shortage of hits such as Rome Wasn't Built in a Day, Enjoy the Ride, Wonders Never Cease, Everybody Loves a Loser, Trigger Hippie and others.
Even before that, for the first time in four years under a warm sky, Ljubljana will be danced by fotr Remove. Uroš recently returned to to rugged, darker, hard techno, which was enthusiastically picked up by the labels Intec (Carl Cox), Form (Popof) and Tronic (Christian Smith). The ground will be prepared for him by the most penetrating regional janitor, Mike Vale, and a seasoned heater of masters like Luciano, Oliver Dollar, Sonny Fodera and The Magician, Urban Pfeifer. To top it all off, as part of Dance Friday, the champion of the Baltic electronic scene and a familiar figure from the top of the charts, Ten Walls, will perform here for the first time.
It will be the second evening genre-wise even more diverse and colorful for the concert audience. To the central guests of the festival #FUKSi 2018 the stage in Tobačno will be heated by a one-act trio Matter, the final performance is reserved for Dessert, and he will tie everything together into a whole Žiga K., a DJ who also cultivates the scene as the music editor of Vala 202, and in the past he also worked as a sonic selector on MTV and set up Radio Terminal with his colleagues.
The urban festival at the beginning of summer is part of a wider project that will subsequently visited several other Slovenian cities, already as part of the main event, with the selected music, offered many things for lovers of sports, pampering the palate, art and socializing in nature. They will also be part of the whole day's events creative and active workshops for big and small children, a market of new and old things, a green urban corner, humanitarian culinary creations from waste food (in cooperation with the SURF institute and the Food For Life association), and at several points in the capital there will be #FUKSi 2018 with a program set The city as stage and playground present even before the event itself.
