Denny R. Priyatna is an Indonesian designer who prefers to explore the connection between the human and the inanimate. He plays with different materials and techniques all the time, creating new things. Always with a concept. This time he tackled furniture. Maybe the collection will seem "over the edge" to some, but it doesn't know any other way. Furniture that shows the imperfections of the human body is absolutely fantastic. Or cringe-inducing.
"People strive for perfection both in terms of our bodies and everything that surrounds us. But that is impossible. We are full of mistakes and faults,” he wrote Pleasant. He named the collection, which includes upholstered furniture Upholstered. But he didn't just want to show the imperfections or flaws of the human body, he also wonders if such furniture is comfortable.
Let's stop for a moment and think about what he's hinting at. One of the chairs looks physically and the other emotionally quite uncomfortable. "diseased", as he called the first chair, reminds of skin problems such as acne or even a tumor. The chair looks almost scary as the bumps on the surface are quite obvious. He doesn't look comfortable. Second, "Damaged", but it looks like skin with open incisions. From a distance it resembles a normal chair, but when if you sit on it, the incisions increase and the feeling is not pleasant.

Awesome project, but I doubt any of us would want to read a book in a chair like that.
