Festival of contemporary original and ethnic music,
28 May – 31 May 2013, Hostel Celica, Ljubljana
The traditional spring festival of contemporary original and ethnic music, Godibodi, at which we present Celinka's innovations, will take place this year between May 28 and 31, in the garden of the famous Ljubljana hostel Celica, which will celebrate its first decade of operation in the same period.
With this year's central venue in the summer garden of the Hostel Celica in Ljubljana, the Godibodi Festival wants to express a musical tribute to the creativity of the team of the Hostel Celica and Kud Sestava in the best possible way - with new, excellent music - which has been taking care of original cultural and educational offerings in it since the beginning .
On Godibodi we will present the record 'Home in the Zone' this time singer, intermedia artist and composer Aphra Tesla, the set poetry project 'Song of the Sea', which was recorded by singer Metod Banko with guitarist Teo Collori and two new albums, which will be played on the opening night of Godibodi 2013 by legendary creators from Slovenian Istria, group Vru and singer-songwriter Dario Marušič.
In cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in the Republic of Slovenia, we are preparing an Evening within the framework of the festival Carinthian folk songs. Top musicians from both sides of the border, led by the Austrian producer and composer Anton 'Tonča' Feinig and the outstanding Slovenian vocalist Eva Hren, will present new modern adaptations of Carinthian folk songs and new original compositions.
The conclusion of this year's festival will belong to the band Fake Orchestra, which since its creation in 1998 has been enthralling with fine and lively arrangements of folk bands from all over the world. At Godibodi's conclusion, they will present their new album, with which they transformed a strawberry selection of Slovenian folk tunes into an extraordinary dance story. The line-up was also adapted to the new stylistic direction and a three-member brass section was added to the standard line-up.
