Boutique hotel Dobra Vila Bovec has found its home in a historic building that was once a telephone exchange. Today, it is an elegantly decorated four-star hotel that writes new stories with its rooms.
Each of the rooms has its own number, which also carries a special meaning. That's right room 69 intended for all those who love each other (namely, the numbers embrace each other so beautifully), room 106 symbolizes the daring height of the Boka waterfall, which is only a few bends away from Bovec, room 136 the length of the river Soča, one of the most beautiful emerald rivers in Europe, room 2001 is a small memory of the movie Odyssey 2001. Here they are room 1929, which reminds us of the publication of the book Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemignway, who in his younger years used to walk right through the scenes of the Soča fortress, room 50, which symbolizes the number of bends of the panoramic road across Vršič, room 2300 with the altitude of Kanina, room 501 is a small salute to the "Levis", the super chic jeans that used to be bought in Italy. They complement all this room 640, which represents the depth of the deepest vertical in the world (the abyss of Vertigo on the Kaninska podi), room 05, which is a memory of the victories of the invincible alpine skier Bojan Križaj and the world champion Ingemar Stenmark and their skis, skis of all skis, the Elan RC 05 and room 386, which it hides the importance of the international calling number for Slovenia and is at the same time a kind of eulogy to the "parents" of this building, who many years ago thought of building the main telephone exchange between Rome and Berlin right here.
In Dobra Vila you will also find a rich collection of books, monographs, magazines and also comics, where everyone can find something for themselves. At least 36 meters of books of Slovenian and world literature are collected on the shelves. It has a special place in the hotel Dobra Vila wine cellar. This is where they store the bottled wines of top Slovenian winemakers from the Goriški Brda wine-growing region, the Vipava Valley, the Karst, the coast and the Štajerska region. Tastings are also available for smaller organized groups, or if you want them to prepare a tasting of five types of wine for you for dinner. The wine story will be presented to you by one of the renowned winemakers.
Garden and terrace of the hotel (which the guests called the "white terrace" due to the characteristic white flowers) are intended for relaxation with a view of the surrounding hills, enjoyment and lounging in good weather.
